Cozumel is a world diving capital on the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, and for certified divers a symbolic ceremony can happen underwater: the two of you weightless above the coral, surrounded by fish, exchanging vows on slates or with signs, in the blue silence. It is surreal, intimate, and unlike any ceremony on land.
Vows beneath the surface

What it takes
Both of you need dive certification and comfort in the water, and it is a symbolic ceremony, with the legal marriage handled on land or at home. It takes a dive team, an underwater officiant, and a photographer who can shoot in the water, all coordinated carefully around the conditions and your comfort.
As your Elopement Curator I coordinate the dive team and the underwater ceremony, plan the surface day around it, and both shoot and film above and below the water. Twelve years and 240+ couples in, an underwater elopement is one of the rarest days I create.
