In about ten minutes you go from the valley to a platform between two mountains, glaciers falling away on every side, no hiking required.

The legal and practical side
A BC marriage licence is about C$100, valid ninety days, with no waiting period, and you need a licensed officiant and two witnesses. The alpine is weather-dependent, so every summit plan I build carries a full-value valley backup, Lost Lake, the cedar trails, a forest ceremony, in case the lifts close or the cloud rolls in. Cloud and mist up there often photograph better than a clear day anyway.
When to go
The alpine window is roughly June through October, with wildflower meadows in July and the first larch gold and cold, clear light in late September. That is when gondola access is most reliable and the high country is at its best.
