Rain is likely outside high summer, so the single most useful thing you can bring is a beautiful umbrella. It shelters you, draws you close, and becomes a compositional element.
Footwear and colour
Bare feet are the most natural choice on the sand, and many couples embrace barefoot beach portraits. For the rocky headlands and rainforest trails, bring sturdy footwear and switch.
Against the silver Pacific and pale sand, ivory reads soft while navy, forest green, or a warm terracotta lift the muted coastal palette. In the soft overcast that dominates the coast, that separation is what makes you read in the frame.
