Charley & Jennifer's elopement in Banff National Park: the opening frame

A Lake at First Light, Banff National Park · Late Spring 2025

Charley & Jennifer

Portra 800 · 15 frames · One day

Jennifer pinned the flowers into her hair in a cabin mirror before six, and the fog was still sitting on the lake when they walked down over the rocks to read to each other. Nothing on that shoreline but them and the weather. They spent the middle of the day driving, and she ate a bun in the front seat with the veil still on, which is the kind of frame that never makes it into a wedding album and should. The light came back gold in the evening, then went blue, and they finished by walking into the lake in everything they were wearing. Fifteen frames, first light to full dark.
