“500-year-old stone walls, bougainvillea in every direction, and Caribbean light that turns everything gold.”
Arman’s take
Cartagena's Walled City is one of the most visually extraordinary places I have ever photographed, and I use that word deliberately. The scale of the colonial fortifications, the density of the bougainvillea climbing terracotta walls, the Caribbean light bouncing off 500-year-old stone — it operates at a level of visual richness that very few cities in the world can match. Couples who marry here understand something about choosing a location with genuine character rather than generic resort beauty. The photography practically makes itself, which is not something I say lightly. I have to work harder to make a bad image in Cartagena than a good one.
Light & atmosphere
The high, warm walls of the Old City act as enormous light reflectors in the late afternoon, creating beautiful, even fill-light on subjects' faces even in direct sun conditions. The narrow streets concentrate the golden light into shafts that create natural drama without any additional equipment. Every turn reveals a new visual environment.

Questions
Frequently Asked
Is travel included for Colombia destination weddings?+
Yes — I am based between Vancouver and Medellin, so travel within Colombia is often minimal or already included in destination packages.
How much does a destination wedding photographer cost in Colombia?+
My Colombia packages start around USD $4,000 for intimate ceremonies and go up from there depending on coverage, add-ons, and multi-day logistics. I share exact numbers on a discovery call.
When is the best time of year to get married in Colombia?+
Cartagena's dry season runs December–April. Medellin has an eternal spring climate and is beautiful year-round. December and January are peak season across the country.
Do you speak Spanish?+
Yes — I am conversational in Spanish and have worked with Colombian vendors, haciendas, and planners extensively.
What venues do you work with in Colombia?+
Fincas and haciendas in Antioquia, colonial properties in the Walled City of Cartagena, and urban venues in Medellin and Bogota. I can help connect you with planners in each region.
What is your photography style?+
Editorial, film-inspired, and deeply rooted in the location's light and atmosphere. Colombia's light — especially in Medellin — is some of the most extraordinary I have ever worked in.
How many photos will we receive?+
Typically 500–700 edited images for a full day. Gallery delivered within 6–8 weeks, sneak peek within 5 days.
Do you offer videography in Colombia?+
Yes — cinematic highlight film available as an add-on or in luxury packages.
How do I book?+
Send an inquiry with your date and location. Discovery call follows, then a 30% retainer locks in your date.
