“My home. The best light I know. The Andes behind everything.”
Arman’s take
I chose Medellín as my base of operations after years of travelling for weddings, and the decision came down to one thing: the light here is the finest I have found anywhere in the world. The Valle de Aburrá sits at 1,495 metres between Andean mountains, and the combination of altitude, equatorial sun angle, and mountain-reflected evening warmth creates a quality of late-afternoon illumination that is difficult to describe and impossible to manufacture. The surrounding fincas and haciendas of Antioquia are extraordinary wedding venues — centuries of Paisa architecture surrounded by coffee fields, tropical gardens, and mountain views that stretch to the horizon. I photograph weddings in Medellín with a particular sense of pride because I know this city and its light the way you can only know a place you have chosen to call home.
Light & atmosphere
Medellín's famous "Eternal Spring" climate means outdoor coverage is consistent year-round. The mountain basin creates a light bowl effect at golden hour — when the sun drops below the ridge line, the surrounding peaks continue to glow and reflect warm light back into the valley for 15 to 20 minutes beyond what you would expect. I plan every portrait session around this window.

Fincas and haciendas in Antioquia, colonial properties in the Walled City of Cartagena, and urban venues in Medellin and Bogota. I can help connect you with planners in each region.
